The Weatherhead High 3D Thought Shape Library

A group of young people from Weatherhead High School created a set of shapes to represent different kinds of ideas, emotions and Memories.
The group defined different kinds of Flunstellas and developed these ideas by making drawings and sculptures with Plastercine and then transferring them into digital form using Blender.

Modification

This model has been designed so it can easily be customized. Each Flunstellas model within this library has a flat white patch around its back end.

To edit how this flat white patch appears on the 3D shape, you just need to locate the image file for the blank back end.

The details of what each file is and what it does
    •    default_icon.png is a 64px X 64px image file, used to make Thumbnails withing StarLogo TNG
    •    One .png file is the 3D Shapes Texture file, this is the image file that stores the texture for the body of the shape, it will be colourful and full of patterns - ignore this unless you are experienced working with 3D.
    •     The other .png file is a much simpler image, which will be mostly white. This can be edited easily. You just need to open it in Paint, Gimp, Photoshop or some other image editing program. Any image you put onto this file will appear at the flat back end of the 3D shape when viewed in StarLogo TNG or some other 3D software.
    •    The .obj file is the 3D model file. If you want to see what it looks like you can open it in a text editor like notepad or word.
    •     The .mtl file tells the 3D .obj file which texture to use and how. If you want to see what it looks like you can open this in a text editor too.

For a tutorial explaining how to use this model within StarLogo TNG, go here.

Some of the models have already been customized by the young people that designed them, you will be able to tell which have already been customized as they have different thumbnails when opened in StarLogo TNG.

The models have been split between 4 fictional characters, Charlie, Miss, Isabella and Jo. The folder directory was designed this way for the project that the girls at Weatherhead were working on, you may choose to restructure the folder directory if you wish, but you will only be able to play the projects created by the group with the directory set up as it is here.

There are duplicates of each model, so that people using them are able to create different instances of the same kind of Flunstella.

These models can be viewed using MeshLab

These models can be edited in a variety of 3D software such as...
    •    Blender www.blender.org
