'Charlies Flunstella Constellation' was installed in the Fact sculpture hall, as part of the 'Knowledge Lives Everywhere' exhibition. It was designed by young people from year 8 & 9 at Weatherhead High School and artist Neil Winterburn, as part of the Fact/Weatherhead Flunstellas course.
The girl in the middle of the installation is 'Charlie', a fictional character, invented by the group. Charlie is the girl in the class who refuses to take part, who has a tendency become confrontational and then to storm out dramatically, whenever her Teacher attempts get her more involved in the lesson.
The shapes surrounding Charlie represent the Flunstellas that are floating around her in the classroom.
